Another spontaneous trip... my mom was stressed-out again...

So decided to bring her around and chillax~~

    Our plan was:

Drive all the way to Johor Bahru - stay 1 night meet my friends and her baby boy...

Leave JB and drive to Melaka - stay 1 night eat Asam Laksa...

2 of her friends joined us too...

Booked my hotels from Booking.com and we are all set!

Thanks to Waze... we dont need a map..

  • We started off our journey at about 11am and reached our first stop ~ Johor Premium Outlet around 2pm...

coz it is located before entering JB city...

Jus waze for Johor Premium Outlet and it will lead you there..

    Shopping!!! Yeah!!!

There are more than 130 brand stores... like Coach, Gucci, Burberry, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ferragamo and so on...

It has the same architectural design as other countries' premium outlet...

My mom and her friends went crazy... *facepalm

There are many restaurants there too... we had Absolute Thai as lunch and Baskin Robbins as dessert :D

We left JPO at about 6pm to check-in our hotel..

We stayed at Thistle Hotel instead of the one I always stayed...

located opposite of Danga Bay.. near the old town...

but... to me.. I think the furnitures are quite old...

they are refurbishing it coz we saw people retouching and painting the rooms...

it was okay... but.. maybe.. i wouldnt stay there again...

I still prefer Renaissance Hotel.. which is in Permas Jaya..

with lots of restaurants around.. AEON... petrol station...

yes.. eventhough its more expensive.. but you feel comfortable and clean.. and new...

The hotel's outlook does not look pleasantly new.. but inside is SUPERB!

Another hotel suggestion will be Doubletree by Hilton Hotel...

located in the CBD... will try this next round..

After check-in.. we went for dinner with my friends at Harvest Bar & Grill, Senibong Cove...

you will see yachts parked around in front of the restaurants...

besides Harvest, there are a few other restaurants and pubs... very nice environment...

Its my 2nd time there.. so we ordered the same food I had previously :D

Their signature Pork Knuckle and Pork Ribs... we also had pizza... mashed potatoes...

Highlight of the night... cute lil baby :D

  • Breakfast is the most I-M-P-O-R-T-A-N-T meal of a day...

My friend recommended me 锦华茶餐室 Kedai Makan Kin Wah...

its located in the old town... waze will lead you there too :D (cannot live without waze)

Famous for their nasi lemak and toast...

    1 word ~ NICE!

Besides this... just opposite Kin Wah is a famous bakery selling banana cake...

and the queue is so longgggggg...

We gave up.. coz the next round of banana cake is at 12pm.. will try next time...

We left JB to stop-by Yong Peng for some famous biscuits...

Kedai Membuat Kuih Muih Eng Hing...

freshly bake bicuits... very nice sesame & peanuts smell

These biscuits are as big as a plate...

Aunties bought 60 of these... the whole car is full with sesame & peanut smell after that...

Before leaving Yong Peng, we also had the famous fish ball noodles...

Ermm... Im not really a fan of fish balls.. so.. to me.. so so~~

We continue our journey to Melaka ~ the UNESCO World Heritage Site...

Stayed in 1825 Gallery Hotel, located along Sungai Melaka... can walk to Jonker Street...

Very nice.. clean hotel.. and value for money too...

They have designated carpark located behind the hotel.. just follow the signage in front of the hotel on some lamp post... a open aired car park...

Dont have to go Easter Island ady...

You can enjoy the river from the hotel's bar...

    The 3 beauties...

We walked to the Jonker Street after that...

We wanted to eat satay celup at Capitol... but it was closed! coz it was a Monday... so remember.. they are closed on Monday!

Right in front of Jonker Street there is this 4 storeys of H&M... opposite of Hard Rock Cafe

    Yeah!! My fav~~ W-A-T-E-R-M-E-L-O-N....

the seller opened a hole and used a blender to juiced all the flesh~~

    Some artsy bitsy cafe...

Aunties went for foot massage so I walked back alone and wait for them in the room with aircond...

The backview of 1825 Gallery Hotel...

And as I was doing research for dinner place... I found out that there is this famous uncle selling Oh-jian (Oyster Omelette).. which is jus further down from hotel..

So I quickly rushed down before the queue starts...

at Medan Makan Boon Leong... Uncle opens at 7.30pm and when I reached there at 7.35pm... there was already a long queue

Small pack for RM8 and Large pack for RM12... Nice...

Aunties were satisfied with their foot massage and the masseur recommended them 大三元 Restoran Tai Sam Guan...

We paid RM5 for Grabcar service... didnt want to drive

They are famous for their crabs... so we ordered their salt baked & salted egg york crabs...

It was sooooo FRESH!!!! Super Nice!!!! will be back again!!

    Lala also very nice...

Fish... not so nice... because of the sauce...

    AWESOME!!

  • REMINDER: Breakfast is very important...

We walked to Jonker 88 for their famous cendol.. and tried the laksa too...

cendol is nice.. but not laksa.. it was too sour and only has sour taste.. not enough of fish too..

Then my friend recommended me The Daily Fix Cafe on Jonker Street...

I like the environment... with lots of old stuff... very artsy bitsy...

Their signature pancakes... NICE!! very fluffy... crispy on the outside.. juicy on the inside (like KFC ads)

Then.. we walked back to hotel to collect the car...

and aunties were busy taking pictures all the way back...

and after an eternity of taking pics...

We drove around the town... pass-by red houses... the church...

then we went for Nyonya food for lunch :D

    at Restoran Ole Sayang...

Was very packed... so remember to reserve a table... and they have group tours eating there too...

We ordered Asam Fish, Omelette, Kangkung Belacan, Sambal Sotong & Ayam Ponteh...

Food was ok.. not bad... personally I like their Ayam Ponteh...

Before leaving Melaka, aunties like Nyonya Kuih.. so we went to Baba Charlie for kuihs... it was behind some housing area.. so just waze it...

Aunties frying kuihs.. and making my fav pie tees...

Too many choices.. I want all!! but my mother dont let...

The end of my Southern Road Trip to Johor Bahru & Melaka :D

    And

It's time to plan for another new adventure!
