  • Summary

A short 3 days 2 nights family trip to Langkawi...

A spontaneous one... coz my mom told me that she was stressed-out and she needs a vacay

So we booked our air tickets, hotel rooms & rent a car (would recommend you to book your car before you take off)

& we are all set to fly to Langkawi in less than 2 weeks time :D

After this trip... I know where I got my passion for travel... from my parents :D :D

We are just too 烂玩 :p

    Our motto ->

  • We stayed in Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa's Garden Terrace Room...

Huge hotel area.. with private beach and lounge on the beach so you can enjoy the view while drinking mojito :D

Booked 2 rooms there; 1 for my parents and I stayed with my bro in another room...

Both on the ground floor of a double-storey chalets...

Got some of the resort's official photos..

Huge pool area too... good for families

My mom~~ she loves the architecture of the resort...

    Our room...

    CBA... the lounge area

    Sunset to be like this..

They arranged this arch for a wedding ceremony...

    My mom... again

Overall the hotel is nice... but its too huge... i need to walk for at least 10 mins from the lobby to my room...

Nice beach area.. but its not a smooth sand beach.. quite rough.. painful to walk without wearing sandals...

Woudn't want to swim in the sea too.. quite rocky

    But still okay...

During our stay in Langkawi.. we went to explore some other hotels too.. like:

    The Danna

    located near Perdana Quay...

    very nice colonial style hotel...

nice pool & nice beach... smooth sand :D

will consider staying here the next time..

    Some of the hotel's photos~~

    Next one...

    The Andaman

Very far away from the city... hidden inside the mountain...

but it suits those who wants to stay away from crowd... sun-bath everyday... (suits me :D)

Superb private beach.. you can rent a kayak there... or do wind-surfing...

    Malay style architecture..

    Overlook the whole Teluk Datai

Nice pool.. but its smaller compare to Meritus Pelangi..

Like the Beach Bar.. chillax while enjoy the view..

We were there for a drink too~~

I think I will go back for Andaman... stay away from the crowd.. read & sun-bath & drink... for my next Do-nothing trip

  • We had late lunch at Meritus Pelangi's Spice Market Restaurant...

    serving Malaysian food...

forgot to take picture of my meals.. but I got my Watermelon Juice :D :D

Did some research... so we went to the famous Orkid Ria Restaurant at Pantai Cenang area...

Super crowded... go as early as you can...

There are tanks of live seafood on the left of the entrance...

Choose the seafood you want like lobsters.. tiger prawns... crabs... fishes...

    Drum roll~~~~~

    Jeng Jeng Jeng Jeng!!!!!

    Mama mia!!!

It is quite pricey... but nice :DDDDD

I think my bill was RM600+ with rice, drinks & some veges...

2nd day's lunch we had sandwiches at Perdana Quay's The Loaf...

my heart-shaped club sandwiches.. nothing special..

but it has a very nice view of Perdana Quay... with yachts..

For dinner... we went to Bon Ton Resort's Nam..

    serves Malaysian cuisine...

very cozy place... nice to chillax and enjoy sunset view.. foods are nice too...

On our last day, we had lunch at Tang Lung Seafood Restaurant...

Nothing much about it... normal 叫菜吃饭... had a steamed fish... some veges...

There are lots of selections along Pantai Cenang... like McDonalds... Indians, Thais, Chinese Seafood Restaurants...

but should try Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant.. at least once~

Overall.. I think Langkawi's food are kinda pricey... maybe because of the foreigners... so they boost up the prices..

  • Pantai Cenang & Shopping Street

Along Jalan Pantai Cenang.. there are restaurants, bars, souvenir shops & backpacker motels...

Its the most "happening" street in Langkawi

So you can stroll around after dinner... buy some souvenirs... do henna... drink...

if you walk or drive further down.. then you can buy chocolates & alcohols from The Zon Duty Free or Coco Valley...

The iconic eagle statue at The Eagle Square

I went there at night... which I think is better than going during day time... because of the weather...

Art in Paradise, Skycab & Skybridge

All these are in Oriental Village...

Before taking Skycab to go up the hill to Skybridge... we went to the Art in Paradise...

RM30 per adult (for Malaysian, so please remember to bring your IC)

We had fun there... taking funny pictures... and enjoy the aircond :D

    Then.. we took the Skycab...

    RM40 per adult...

Its safe but it was so scaryyyy... it went so high up and sitting inside and wait for it to reach the other station was like so long...

If you are afraid of heights... think twice

Once you reach the top station.. walk up a bit and pay for RM5 to enter the Skybridge...

    another scaryyy part...

Again.. think twice if you are afraid of heights..

To me, I think Langkawi is a place to chillax.. slow down your walking pace...

spend time with your love ones at the beach... drink and listen to music...

    dont over-plan your schedule...

    :D

    Ciao~
